Course overview:
The course is designed for individuals looking to broaden their knowledge and build skills in the use of next generation sequencing (NGS) for SARS-CoV-2 surveillance particularly those who work in the laboratory on sample preparation, sequencing and basic data analysis.
Intended audience:
Personnel of national public health institutions on the African continent, carrying out the sequencing and bioinformatics analysis of SARS-CoV-2.

- Venue of course: Online through Zoom
- Dates for the course: Self paced
- Participation: The course materials are openly available for self paced learning. Interactive online sessions with the course instructors will be organized as required for specific participants that are due to attend in person wet-lab training.
- The training will focus on key topics such as sample preparation, sequencing, data analysis, curation and sharing, basic phylogenetics and epidemiology in a set of 7 independent modules. The topics are all related to the application of genomics to epidemiological investigations and public health response to SARS-CoV-2. The modules are designed to ensure an engaging online learning experience.
